www.kaycie.co.za respects your privacy. This notice explains, in plain language, what personal information we hold, why we hold it, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Questions any time: zinalesueur@gmail.com.
What we collect. Contact details you give us when you get involved, pledge or register (name, email, phone); donation and payment records; and — only if you request a Section 18A tax certificate — the ID/passport and tax reference number SARS requires on it. For programme participants, enrolment details are captured by our staff, never through public forms, and for children only with a guardian's consent.
Why we hold it. To process your donation and send you your receipt (performance of our agreement with you); to issue Section 18A certificates and file the returns tax law demands of us (legal obligation); and to send you news only if you opted in (consent, withdrawable any time via the unsubscribe link).
Who helps us process it. Card payments are handled by PayFast (we never see your card number). Email is delivered by our mailing provider. Records live in our management system with identity numbers and other sensitive fields encrypted. Each provider works under a data-processing agreement.
How long we keep it. Donation and tax records are kept for the period tax legislation requires. Everything else is kept only while we need it for the purposes above.
Your rights. You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it — your supporter portal has a request button, or simply email us. When we delete, your identifying details are erased; the bare financial records the law obliges us to retain are kept without your identity attached. If you believe we have mishandled your information you may complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
Children. Information about the children in our programmes is held under guardian consent, used only to run and report on those programmes, and is never published without that consent.
